Song choice for openings

Hey! I was just really curious if it's weird to put non-Japanese songs in fanime. I plan on making openings without the use of Japanese songs. I plan on using dub step, reggae, rap (just the instrumentals), and pop (maybe). I'm just afraid people are going to assume stuff and point and be rude saying "AWWWWW SHES/ZIES BLACK! BLACK PEOPLE SHOULDNT MAKE FANIME!" (Yes I am black and gender queer, if that helps, and I understand the rudeness on YT)
So my questions are:
Should I use non-Japanese songs?
Will it seem weird to use instrumental rap songs (it's not hardcore or anything extremely bad)?
Will people just assume stuff about me (I know I should ignore haters and trolls, but if it gets too out of hand... And plus I have issues dealing with bullies)?
So yeah, sorry if it's a weird question, I just want to know if it would be weird or not.

Nah. You can use whatever music you want, and as long as it fits with the topic of the intro it shouldn't matter. That said, ultimately it's the song choice that will determine how people react to it. If you're using something really popular or mainstream it's bound to get a few giggles, but even so I think it should be fine?

This is my really poor way of saying "Do whatever you want."

Also, dubstep would make a really interesting intro now that you mention it. If you sync the video to the music it could be pretty cool. :O

I like to use japanese songs that are english dubbed personally, because, then your audience knows what the fudge their saying.

It suits it perfectly and I love it, especially since they made it themselves


Use whatever you want, it's your fanime, your rules. If someone doesn't like it they can go sit in the naughty corner and suck a lemon.
